Casella CEL's CEL-300 series of convertible noise dosimeters is designed to provide the necessary features of more expensive fully featured instruments, combined with various user enhancements for both the new and experienced user, in a single economical, user-friendly instrument. The CEL-300 series includes the CEL-320, CEL-320S, and the CEL-360. Operation is as simple as fitting the battery, selecting a microphone style, powering on the instrument, and begin recording. A range of pre-programmed setups have been preset in the CEL-300 sound level meter. Select the setup appropriate for your task and all settings will be handled by the instrument saving hassle and headaches. Customized setups can also be programmed through the included Windows software for special tasks.
Both the CEL-320 and CEL-360 cover three measurement ranges from 30–140 dB to ANSI type 2 specifications. Choose from impulse, fast, or slow time weightings and A or C frequency weightings. For dose measurements select Q as 4, 5, or 6. The CEL-300 has memory to retain more than one month of results for average, maximum, and minimum noise levels in addition to single criterion level for noise dose calculations and two threshold cutoff levels. Direct printout from the CEL-300 is possible and it can be easily converted between sound level meter and dosimeter. Both CEL-300 instruments come with Windows software for data transfer, management. Information can also be loaded from the older CEL-420 or CEL-460 noise dosimeters. The CEL-300 is powered by a single 9V battery for an average uptime of 40 hours.
The CEL-360 builds upon the features of the CEL-320 and adds the ability to preset delayed start and stop times up to a month in advance. The CEL-360 also has logging capabilities and can store up to 10 key noise parameters through an operation so the user can determine when the noise was loudest; essential information to gather before costly noise reduction work or when planning noise control policy. Use a stalk or cable microphone to use the CEL-360 as either a handheld sound level meter or a conventional noise dosimeter.
